Review: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balms

Who didn’t love crayons as a kid? Actually, I didn’t, they were so waxy and the colour payoff was crap. But I do really like lip crayons! The ones that I’ve tried up to now have all been lovely with good colour payoff, and the Rimmel Colour Rush balms are no exception. These “long lasting intense colour balms” really do live up to their name and today I’m gonna share with you 100 give me a cuddle and 130 I want Candy!.

First off, I must say Internet swatches are so deceiving! I thought give me a cuddle would be a light baby pink and I want Candy! would be more fluorescent and purple. (Interwebs why you lie to me :C) Nonetheless they’re still really pretty shades; give me a cuddle is a yellow-toned pink and I want Candy! is a vibrant magenta. On my lips, these translate a lot warmer than in the tube. Give me a cuddle gives me very pink pouty lips and I want candy! shows up just like the swatch, but a tad bit warmer and not as in your face as I’d hoped. These glide on with ease and are so easy to use (that’s why I love lip crayons they’re so easy to wear). They’re comfortable and don’t feel heavy or drying. As the name suggests, they do have fairly good lasting power and like the Revlon just-bitten kissable balm stains, these too leave a nice stain as they wears off. (sidenote: what is it with lip crayons and their long as names?)

I do however, prefer the Revlon ones over these, I feel like the Revlon ones apply more evenly and I really dig the spearmint scent. These have a subtle vanilla scent, similar to MAC lipsticks, which reminds me of play-doh. The Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush balms contain 2.5g of product and retail for £5.99 (79HKD). As Rimmel isn’t available in Hong Kong, I order my Rimmel products online via either ASOS/Look Fantastic/Feel Unique. Look Fantastic is having 20% off with the code: FINAL20. teehee, you're welcome :)

Hope you're all having a lovely day :)

  1. Omg I think I've figured out a way to comment on my phone *fingerscrossed*
These look so pretty! I want to see how they look on your lips though! I don't think I've seen them here in NZ. As always I'm so tempted but hearing that you prefer the revlon ones makes me feel less I-need-to-buy-these-now-y

    2. You should give them a try if you see them! I prefer these over the Kate Moss lipsticks, cause the Kate ones wear off kinda patchy, but these leave a really pretty stain
